DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUG USE RISK REDUCTION PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR

A DUI Alcohol or Drug Use Risk Reduction Program Instructor is an individual who has been certified by the Department to instruct the Intervention Component of the DUI Alcohol or Drug Use Risk Reduction Program.

WHO CAN BECOME A DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUG USE RISK REDUCTION PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR

Any individual certified by the Department to instruct the Intervention Component of the DUI Alcohol or Drug Use Risk Reduction Program.

Individuals interested in becoming a certified DUI Alcohol or Drug Use Risk Reduction Program Instructor will be subjected to the following rules and regulations:

DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUG USE RISK REDUCTION PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR REQUIREMENTS

  • Completed New Instructor Application.
  • Complete a national and state fingerprint based criminal background check.
  • Obtain and submit a certified Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from each state in which the individual was licensed in the past 5 years except Georgia.
  • Choose one method of certification below:

METHOD 1: Official Transcript for an undergraduate or graduate degree in a human services related major from an accredited college or university.

METHOD 2:   Official Transcript for an undergraduate or graduate degree in any major from an accredited college or university and a Notarized Letter signed by a company administrator showing two (2) years of work experience as a full-time teacher, counselor, or trainer; letter must be on company letterhead and list dates of employment, hours worked per week, duties performed, and subjects taught.

METHOD 3:   Official Transcript for an undergraduate or graduate degree in any major from an accredited college or university and a Notarized Letter signed by a company administrator showing three (3) years of work experience as a part-time teacher or trainer; letter must be on company letterhead and list dates of employment, hours worked per week, duties performed, and subjects taught.

METHOD 4:   Copy of your High School Diploma/GED and a Notarized Letter signed by a company administrator showing at two (2) years of work experience as a full-time licensed substance abuse counselor with at least 6 months as a group counselor or facilitator; letter must be on company letterhead and list dates of employment, hours worked per week, duties performed, and subjects taught.
